A Good Old Case of the Mondays

A Good Old Case of the Mondays

Just in case, you feel like you have the case of the Mondays, allow me to help…

This morning I woke up to Hana, fussing, ready to get up for the day, and I went upstairs to her room to get her up. I opened the door and was greeted by a pungent wall of aroma. There was no missing it, there was definitely going to be a poop explosion. Just as the pungent smell promised, it was everywhere and quiet. It was in that moment that I realized I only had about four diapers left.

Fast forward an hour or so and all the kids are up, getting ready for the day and Axel informed me that he wasn’t feeling very well. Turns out he just wanted to watch cartoons and 20 minutes before we usually leave for preschool drop off- he informed me that he changed his mind and that he wanted to go to school.

In a mad dash, I threw on clothes and my hair up in a bun and we left the house 20 minutes later. I climbed into my bus van last and was greeted with another another pungent wall of a familiar smell. I didn’t know which twin it was, nor did I have the time to go inside and change them.

I figured we’d do drop off then run to a target and replenish my sad level of diaper stash. Once we got to target, I decided to grab a coffee quick and then deal with whatever the poop situation was. I ordered myself a coffee with a couple extra shots of espresso and the lady making my drink informed me that I look like I needed it. Perfect. Exactly what every mom needs to hear and exactly what I needed to confirm how my morning was going.

With my hot coffee waiting for me, we ventured to the bathroom, where I began to unbuckle Philip. I could already see that it had escaped his diaper. He basically got a bath from the waist down as there was remnants everywhere.

I had three people knock on the bathroom door, wondering if it was going to be open soon. Ruby and I couldn’t stop laughing how gross it was.

However, we survived and prevailed. All before 10am. Happy Monday. My coffee was delicious, Ruby is so much fun to shop with and both twins are happily sleeping.
