Creating Your Own Logo

I love design, creating something from scratch has a special place in my soul that nothing can beat. It’s probably why I love newborns, something beautiful God created. It’s why I love gardening and seeing the fruition of our hard work as seedling emerge from the soil. It’s why I love graphic design, to see how different things move and speak to people. How different designs represent someone or something.

I designed our Menagerie Logo and it was a blast! We went through a few different rounds of edits and found a couple of different options before we landed on our favorite.

Here’s the process of how I got to this finished product:

1. Write out some of the words that come to mind when describing your piece of land, idea or project.

2. Write out any objects, animals or shapes that you love or are associated with your place.

3. Before putting some of the pieces together to see how they might work in conjunction with each other and be okay with switching it up.

Once I had my logo designed, it felt official! I couldn’t wait to get the next thing going. While it might only be symbolic for myself, that doesn’t lessen the excitement at all.
